The funny thing you catch walleye fishing

Landed 5 sturgeon and 3 pike lately walleye fishing at Roosevelt :dunno:

Yep. Sturgeon are native to the entire Columbia drainage.  There is no reason you shouldn't find them even higher, in BC , up the Clark Fork, etc.  Nice looking young sturgeon.

This is from the Kettle area and heard rumors of 10'+ being hooked.  Notice how nice and fat the pike is, 3 trout are filling out that belly.

Is it legal to take sturgeon out of the water in Roosevelt?  I know it isn't in the snake above Clarkston.

None of the burbout we caught were worth cleaning, too small.  But I still have a bunch from the Spokane Arm this winter.
