Deer warts (fibroma).......just read an article on them.

Not in any way fatal unless they eventually cover the eyes (for obvious reasons).  Fit for human consumption, as well.

The pictures I saw had one deer so covered with them that I could see very litle hide.  Some warts were so dense and on top of each other that the whole mass protruded off of this animals body 4-5 inches.

You eat what you shoot, but having said that, I'm thinkin' it's a 'pass' if I can see this malady well enough to know he's got 'em.

Not rare, but not usual either.

They seem to come and go in phases.  A bunch of mule deer had them on my place two years back but then I haven't seen it since.  Never saw it on the whitetail. 
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I had a pic a couple years ago that a deer had some farely large ones. Always wondered what that was. Thanks for the info! Havent seen them since.

Ive seen those growths frequently on whitetails. Tbey always seem to go away once fall hits.
