2015 Hunt Wa Crawdad Mania
« on: May 28, 2015, 01:36:04 PM »
Well folks it's that time of year again to hunt down one of the tastiest creatures to come out of freshwater.  H20, Brad, and others did such a good job last year I would like to continue the competition.

Same as last year largest crawdad and/or most in one pot and ending on the season closing October 31st.  Also, in keeping this honest only pics of live or uncooked hogcraws.

I will start it off with a packet of custom bait bags to the person getting the largest crawdad.  Got the bait bags in today!

Below is a pic of my first haul of the year, 40 crawdads in two pots!  Nothing over 7 inches but a decent haul from a small creek by my house.

And below that is what I saw at the Marysville Fred Meyer last week.  I asked the meat manager where they got them and she did not know other than they came from their supplier Pacific Seafood’s, $8.99 a pound whole!

Shrimper....I seek your guidance. I wish to trap my own Hogcraw. I have a son, "the boy", that is 9 this summer. This is up our alley. Would you care to privately share this stream info? I have some ideas of my own we could discuss and go from there.

I propose a 1 inch handicap for last years winners. Only a suggestion as I wish to participate as a competitor this year.

I pulled my first pot yesterday and put it back out for an overnight soak, will check today after work and probably put out another pot too. I'm pumped about a low country boil hopefully soon!!

ok shrimper pm me to please.  I had a crawdad trap that i could not get anything.  If you could give me some pointers that would be great.

When i was a kid used to go out and we would catch them by had.  turn over the rocks real slow a grab them.   back would not allow that now...  would get a couple of 5 gal buckets half full...  good eating.
