Probably my last trip of the season yesterday- decided to do a crayfish / grouse combo day.  Dropped my traps and then started looking for grouse. The birds weren't cooperating, but when I pulled the traps, the crayfish definitely were! Best trap had 43, worst 8. In total, I had 135 mudbugs. No hogs, but they were all a good size. Between the crayfish haul and the beautiful weather, it wasn't a bad day at all.

Wow, nice haul!

Okay the results are in!

Benhuntin is the hogcraw champion this year and the baits bags are on the way.  Euro mount gets the nod for the greatest pot count.

Biggest Hogcraw:
Benhuntin – 10”
Euro mount – 9”
Shrimper – 9”
T Pearce - 8⅞”
Shrimper - 7¼”
HUNTINCOUPLE – 7”
HUNTINCOUPLE - 6¾”
Southpole - 6½”

Pot count:
Euro mount – 57
HUNTINCOUPLE – 53
Gearhead1940 – 43
Elkpiss – 35

It was a great season and thanks to everyone who took the time to participate.  I look forward to next year.

Alright guys...lol feel dumb asking this, but,
I haven't gone out for crawdads since I was 9 or so and that was just for s**t and giggles.
Now I want to get my boys out doing it so.....is there a season, lisc required. What works best lakes or rivers/creeks. What signs would indicate a good area?
Thanks in advance for any tips or pointers
Shank

Shank...I would go back and browse this one from the beginning....also, last years Hogcraw thread had a lot of great information. The regs are pretty basic and easy to follow...check them out in the fishing pamphlet.

I'm sure there will be a Hogcraw 2016.........this is to big to stop now. Be careful my friend...this year a 10 inch beast of a 'craw was captured. That will do things to a man. Things that even he didn't know he was capable of. Don't take my warning to lightly...this ain't no 'dadd'n of your youth. This is a pure pursuit of the Hogcraw. Not some little ditch bug. The competition is fierce, spots are hard won, information is hard to come by.

If you are brave enough we will see you in the chase, Hogcraw 16, coming soon.

Looked at the regs and see nothing about your question. As long as you like ,it looks like.

If you're in productive water, a few hours is plenty.....if that doesn't get them, they are not there.
