Wow this thread sure took off! Here's a nice colfax area whitey from a couple years ago. I'll get some more pictures of colfax big bucks my family and I have taken over the years soon.

The arguing is over. Please don't make us lock the thread.
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Nice deer zack
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.

I shot a pm to the OP apologizing for derailing his thread.  He was looking for insight to the unit, not personal opinions on land access.  I offered to delete my posts to "clean" up his thread.  He has yet to answer me but I decided to do it anyways.  It was not fair to Swift and for that I am sorry.  I urge the other individuals to do the same so this man's thread can get back on track.

I still stand by my experiences and opinions but this is not the place to discuss them.  Another thread or pm's would have been more appropriate.   Good luck this year Swift!

Getting access in the Colfax area is very difficult.  I had that tag and my son who attends WSU.  He ended up getting access to a friends farm and the other hunters who did have access were *censored*es.  He killed an OK buck and those boys who were *censored*es had a conversation with the owner so who knows their might be some openings over there.  LOL!!!

The late Palouse tag is a great tag!  I've hunted that area and as many others have said it's almost all private land. In addition, some of the farmers have gone to charging an access fee to hunt their land. I would suggest making the rounds this summer and checking in with farmers in the Palouse.  If you live close, you may even want to offer to trade some work during harvest, maybe trade firewood or even trade hunts or a fishing trip.  Sometimes just the offer will separate you from the many hunters who are trying to access their land.  Just something to think about.  Good luck with the hunt!
