Northern Breaks MT Help
« on: July 28, 2015, 02:24:08 PM »
Heading over for a 12 day mule deer hunt to send to off one of my best bud's who's getting transferred in the military to the east coast. Looking at region six north of the breaks, but up for suggestion's from any one who's hunted over there. Looking for any info from any one on maybe a spot to start. Hunting days are nov-5-17, so rut should be in full swing. Just really want to but together a hunt for the three of us that we wont forget, and get him a mule deer (his first mule deer) he will be proud of. thanks again

I like the south side of the breaks a lot more than the north side.

North of reserovir closed by then I believe ?........ stay in Jordan, drive an hour west. pound the breaks on foot between road and reservoir.  Lots of Block Management land to hunt but tough to get a big one there.  Lots of forkies and 3 points.

Are you talking about Havre/Chinook/Malta?  I wouldn't get excited until about the 10th of November.

I was thinking around big sandy area. And am heading up on November 7, and will be there for about 10 days. If any one had any suggestions for any other area around the breaks am open for suggestions. Trying to get my buddy's there first mule deer/ first deer in general. And send off my best bud who's in the military getting relocated back east.

Ive had luck around there but get the gps hunt maps with private land info.  All checkerboarded ownership property over there and especially around the breaks with private roads gated going to public lands.
