Hmm, but can it be accessed without driving on Nat forest roads?
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Hmmm, brother in law's place is up in that area north of Republic near Bodie Mtn. He is on his way back from a job in California. I know it starts out on a county road, Trout Creek Rd. , but it later patchwork crosses NF land.  Are they letting property owners access their place?
There is no greater respect to have for wildlife than to harvest an animal fairly and use it's flesh to feed your family.  ~me

Trout Creek road starts out of Republic into the Colville NF.
I know just about all the property owners out on the south side Toroda Creek road. Is the 204 unit open ? That's the Okanogan NF on the north side of Toroda Creek rd.

So far 204 is open, does toroda not run more or less north and south, so east side/west side of the road??

Bodie Mountain is smack dab in the middle of 101 and 204 or Colville NF and Okanogan NF looking at a map.

It certainly is. But, Buckmark was asking about access from private land to timberlands. The land owners I know, their land butts up against Bodie, which is closed.

Bodie got mentioned by Firedog about access for land owners in the CNF. There is no level 3 evac near Republic, so I imagine they cannot keep landowners out.  :dunno:

Well Thank Goodness we have finally cleared this up, until someone else tries to come up with a new angle.

Daily Update Kettle Complex August 31, 2015

Incident: Kettle Complex Wildfire
Released: 5 hrs. ago
Showers moved across the Kettle Complex bringing much needed moisture to the fire area. Incident Metorologist Bob Topin reported that the fire received between one-tenth and two-tenths of an inch of precipitation Sunday. Rain showers and cooler than normal temperatures are predicted throughout the rest of this week with a return of sunshine by the end of the weekend.

The rain and the higher humidity have both contributed to slow the spread of the fires. However, the fire area has not received enough moisture to penetrate the larger fuels, and in some cases, the rain has not yet penetrated the forest canopy. Once this cold rainy weather passes, it may only take a few days of warmer temperatures, steady wind and dry weather to bring burning conditions back to the place they were a week ago.

Called the Republic Ranger Station and was informed that ALL of Colville National Forest is closed for recreational activities (I.E. Hunting).  There will be no updates until Sep. 12th when they will re-assess the closures.

Hmmm, that's not what their website shows.  http://www.fs.usda.gov/colville

Temporary closures map.  http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprd3852325.pdf

Of course they may just be too busy to update the map...

Not me, you got side tracked. You commented "Lotsa private timberland here, I mean lots, if you know where it is..just sayin'

and i asked "Hmm, but can it be accessed without driving on Nat forest roads?

and you started talking about smoked salmon, which i found ironic as i was actuallty snaking on some smoked pinks as i was typing... :chuckle:

I think everyone with any inclinking of hunting 101 or 204 should just wait or make other plans....

Camp its ok we all get older..
