Just wanted to say Thanks for all the help!
« on: August 30, 2015, 12:42:42 PM »

Just wanted to say thanks for all the help from the forum!

Asked some questions a year or two ago about what to read or watch for retiever training. Got lots of feedback and read ot watched it all! Had some great members take me out hunting with them and met some great new friends! Ruger and Happy gave me some great pointers on picking a pup as well! Happy introduced me to some great retriever resources!

Couldn't be happier with the progress we've made. Pup is 6 months and we are both having a blast. Start force fetch next week!!!

Thanks all for helping a guy out!!!

Was just out at Peppers with Addicted, and it looks like I'm done with FF as of today. Good luck with your dude when you get started

Good to hear things are going good. You should keep popping up at Brooke's for workouts when you can because it's like sparing- opens up your weak spots and gives you stuff to work on. Had a great day up in Conway with a huge group today. Anyone wants an open and welcoming step into more formal dog training, Conway can fit the bill. They work with pointers, retrievers, obedience, boarding and field trial retrievers. Great folks all around and a fun environment

Terry,

Shoot me a msg anytime you need someone to train with!

Happy,

Will probably shoot you an email in a month or two once the pups a little older. Are you running in the FT in Sept?

Good luck with the FF.  If you are following a good program, it should go smoothly.
Stick with it to completion, the results are often phenomenal.

Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

Yes. Training has been on the back burner this summer. Just finished a 4 month remodel/house gut which took most of my free time. Starting to move in soon so, been worth it. Now to cut fence lines through the berry jungle:)

Know what ya mean, with the fire danger so high over here, we have been keeping a pretty low profile.  All The smaller waters are dried up and the big waters are a pain unless you want to launch a boat.

Colin, hope you and the pup get to take a crack at a few ducks this season, when you are ready of course.

Just a quick little update on my pup. Now 10 months old and running solid pattern blinds of 150 yrds. Still working on those angle backs and too cold for swim by for another few months I think. Took him out hunt a few times this past week and he's doi ng great. Not breaking and starting to hang of it.

Well I quit smoking so my wife doubled by budget and I ended up getting him from iowa. A little further than I was originally looking but he was what I wanted and turning out great so far.
