Thanks everyone. It was a short, but very fun hunt. Monday morning I almost sealed the deal. Wife had to run home to do a few things around 10am. When she left I decided to go look around. On my way out I was driving down to the main road and looked way up the hill and thought I saw a elk. I pulled over looked through my binos and there was a bull standing there in a clearing. I took off up the hill and wow talk about steep and dark! After getting up pretty far into the timber I decided to do a few cow calls. Let's just say I had that bull bugling like crazy!! It was awesome. At one point he was no more than 100 yards. I just couldn't see him due to how steep the hill was and the trees. It was so exciting tho, felt like I was archery hunting. Played with the bull for over 2 hours just couldn't get him to show him self. He was loving my phelps cow call!! After awhile I think he got tired and worked his way away from me and never spoke back to me. It was intense tho.

It's a family gathering when a tag is filled. Gotta love it! Me my wife and two of my younger siblings.

Great looking bull.  I bet your dad is looking down proud as can be!

I have to wonder if he isn't somehow with you in that picture on your #69 post.  How else would you explain the distortion that turned a 24" or 26" barrel in post/pic #68 into a 36" barrel in post/pic #69?  That's kind of eerie and cool all at the same time!

Congratulations
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
