You guys know your stuff, thanks a bunch.

Guy asked the same question on the Kifaru website about the straight stays on ultralight vs the curves ones. Here's what Kifaru said

2016 – Between this ultralight frame and the hunting duplex, does the curvature of the duplex vs the straight stays of the ultralight . . .

Response From Kifaru Intl.: Hi Gregory,

Yes, the curved stays of the hunting frame are more comfortable under heavier loads.

Ultralight frame is cool but it suffers over 75 pounds in comparison to the new Duplex.

I took the new Duplex with 100 lbs of sand on a 4.4 mile hike and that frame just rocks.

Don't get me wrong I liked my bikini a ton! They just did a phenomenal job on improving on a great design.

So, it's been great meeting some of you guys and trying different packs on.  The info on this thread has been very helpful, thanks! I talked to a rep today and they offered me a great deal on their pack.  I beat myself up over this decision for too long and considering three main things I bought my pack today.  First money, this pack was much more affordable, I don't spend much time overnight hunting in the backcountry and most importantly, they improved and re-designed their frame.  I ended up with the kuiu icon pro 7200 with all the bells and whistles.  I think this pack will be perfect for my needs.  The savings will enough to buy the rino 650 gps!  Thanks again for the help!

Good for you, I think you'll be happy with it. In my opinion, that's the best pack Kuiu makes.

Keep your eyes open for a sale on the xxl kuiu meat bags and when on sale the 3000 bag is a handy addition as a daypack for about $65.   Throw in a kuiu branded platypus bladder while you're ordering.

The load shelf's first use of the year.  :chuckle:

I think you'll be pleased with that pack trophyhunt, I'll be interested to read your review after this hunting season.
