make sure your canopy is tall enough if you decide to raise your bed!! you need taller than cab height.

Yes that is a great idea.
I have a short bed so wouldn't work so well for me. Wish I was shorter  :chuckle:

Well I went with the Leer with roof rack rails factory installed. Added the bed rug which I LOVE after having one in my last rig. There is also a headliner and the beefed up window coverings on the side and drop down slider at the front.
Comparing to the SnugTop thread so far I'm happy. Like I said I'll update with negatives if needed.

I just built something like this today.  Not as nice as some other folks, but it was cheap and quick to build.  Space for totes underneath, fits a thin queen mattress, plenty for overnight trips for me and the wife and dogs.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

Not exactly a canopy mod, but what I did was get a unit named "decked" that is a platform with storage drawers. I place a memory foam pad on it to sleep on and store my guns in the drawers.

Here are some pics off google.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Get a high canopy and make sure it's carpet lined. Mine has 5 gallons of water and an electric pump, a battery that is just for the canopy and a propane stove with a small tank. Use a propane container for boats and vent it, and the battery to the outside. All of that is in the front box, storage under the bunks.  Attached a pic, hope it works.
