Another request for a gunsmith in WA.
« on: May 21, 2016, 06:15:01 PM »
So I dropped off a Glock 20 slide and a Delta Point Pro 10 weeks ago with a local gunsmith here in the greater Seattle area. I was a little dumbfounded when they said 6 to 8 weeks to mill the slide for the optic. It was maybe a two hour job.

I reluctantly left it with them.

At 6 weeks I called and they said that it looks like the 8 week estimate is going to work.

At 8 weeks I emailed and they didn't respond.

At 9 weeks I emailed again. They responded that they hadn't gotten to it and didn't offer any updated estimate.

This morning at almost 10 weeks, I went and picked up my property. It was just as I had left it.

I'm not going to name the place because some people on here have gotten all butt hurt when I did that before. I just won't even consider going back or recommending them.

So, anyway, I'm looking for a competent gunsmith that can mill out a Glock 20 slide so that I can mount the Red Dot optic. Anyone have anyone that they think could do this? I'm only really interested in local (all of WA and maybe the Portland area) options...

Thanks in advance if anyone can offer any info.

I would try Grizz Precision in Rainier! If this link doesn't work the site is grizzprecision.com.

90% sure Grizz is not taking any work in as the guys are deployed. Not sure if that though.

Grizzly doesn't reply to PMs or emails. Obviously, they are deployed and unavailable. Peace and safe return to them.

I would like to know who/where you took your firearm. I am looking to have some work done and would like a good gunsmith in the greater Seattle area, as far north as Everett. If you don't mind, could you PM the name of the place?

Appreciate it! Thank you!

With the rather large backlog from many individuals I can only assume that gunsmithing would be a good business to get into!

I use Mountain Shadow Arms in Spokane. It's a bit of a drive but he is responsive and does excellent work.

Anyone ever use Gold Creek Rifles for anything?  I've looked at his website but beyond that I know nothing about them other than he's located in the Methow Valley.

never had Greg do work personally, but have shot 2 of his builds. Both accurate. One, a tight 257 Weatherby, was insanely accurate with above average speeds.

:yeah:  But you best not be in a hurry for Eric's work either, he is back logged way, WAY out for most work.  Heck, he doesn't even answer his phone on Mon and Tue so he can get something done.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

 Plus 2 for Greg,  located up Gold Creek in the Methow,   best to just go visit him.

But like all GOOD smiths,  very busy!!

Some where around the Tri-City's there is a good Glock armor,   have his card here somewhere :dunno:
The only good tree, is a stump!
