New wildcat time! AR STYLE!!!
« on: May 24, 2016, 08:40:36 PM »
Well I don't post many gun pic's but wanted to share this one. This is a 25x45. Planning on dumping some yotes with 70g blitzkings and 85g btips :IBCOOL: Maybe even a deer or two might get the orange kiss of death :chuckle:

I have been running a 6x45 for several years and really liked it. So I decided to set up a 25x45 and started picking up parts. Got this set back from my cerakoter along with a few for my clients today. So I had a few minutes to bust out the build. Hope you enjoy the pic's

Spartan billet lower and billet YHM upper. Of course BHW barrel.

300 All I have is sized brass right now. It is just a 223 case necked up to .257

Got a chance to do a little brass forming today. Little more picky then my 6x45 to neck up and get into spec. These are the 70g bltizkings. Loaded to max mag length. I forgot how much I hate loading flat base bullets :yike:

I'd like to neck a 22-250 up to .257 and get a savage 99 barreled for that
:chuckle: when I get bored of that I could neck it up to .30 cal

What's the barrel length on that one? I'm interested to hear what kind of velocity you get with those 70gr BKs.

What's the problem with flat base bullets? You are chamfering the case mouths, aren't you?

Yes for sure. The seater plug in the rcbs dies wants the bullet perfectly orientated or it will botch the tip. I wish they had the hornaday bullet sleeve! That makes loading flat base bullets so nice!

I kept this one light. Without optic it comes in at 6.9lbs. So this one has the 16" barrel. I am guessing at the velocity here since I have not run it over the chrono. I am guessing th2 70's should run around 2700-2750. There is a few people running the 20" barrels with the 70g bullets hitting right at 3k.
