Doesn't even have to be for that area. Just a nearby area, as long as you call DFW and ask them an unrelated question about elk in the area Buttons lives.

GMU's 328, 334 and 335 open to antler less in the late muzzy and bow season.  No permit needed  :hello:

I was there for the photo shoot and that animal is as tame as a can be.  Same elk scared me half to death a few years back on the Taylor Bridge Fire when it snuck up behind me and sniffed my ear at 2 in the morning.  After you see the yard where it lives you would probably think twice about hunting that elk. :)
