Last I saw, a good part of Antelope Island was on fire. Not sure what the latest updates on that are.

Edit...sounds like the fire is out and no evidence of any animals lost.

I wonder how the auction tag guy is feeling right now.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Yes I called and its contained and they are still camping on the island just not allowing much activity where the burn was as of this time.. We will be on the island for only two day then spending majority in Henry's and pasagunaut..

It will be hot!  My advise, having photographed mulies in the summer for 25 years is to get up and photograph at daylight.  You'll have maybe an hour and they will be bedded for the day.  Then you can photo at dusk for maybe a half hour to an hour.  The middle of the day you can hang with the family and throw back some beers but heat waves and conditions will put the bucks to bed all day and make them unshootable.  It's always fun though!

That is the exact plan, will be up well before light to position myself and in the evening.. Going to kayak throughout the day.. Most likely will be watching some bed down and may put a little stock in them to get pics also.. I will be meeting other photographers throughout the week to catch up and go photography some bucks together as well..
