Saylean- just ordered your book tonight from Amazon.  Hoping to pick up some pointers on calling- never done that before for bears.  I think I'm more excited this year for my 14-year-old son with him drawing Skagit than I was back in 2015 when I drew!  Less than a week to go.....

Thanks for the support Ghosthunter and Denali.

Fishinandhuntin, PM me if you need any other pointers. I'd love to see your boy connect. Best of luck!

Can't say I know the author Douglas Boze to know his experience with regard to bear hunting.

Read mine cover to cover... Now, I'm gonna read it again! Great book! I've never gone hunting specifically for bears, but that's gonna change!

I decided to hunt black bear this year for the first time (intentional trip, not just part of a sportspac "in case I saw one"), and just downloaded this book via Amazon kindle having seen the various posts.  Looking to learn as much as I can.

Received mine a few weeks ago, looking forward to reading it on flights to and from Florida later this month.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Just finished reading the book today- and only received it on Tuesday from Amazon!  It was very well written with a great mix of general information coupled with real life personal encounters.  The chapters on calling bears were very informative and have me excited to give that a try in the near future.  Haha- I even ordered a "Fawnzy" decoy to try in conjunction with calling!

Latest Amazon review:

BySteveon June 21, 2017
Format: Hardcover

Verified Purchase
I hate reading but bought this as it was suggested to me for an upcoming bear hunt. I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed reading this. It's very informative, easy to read, interesting and full of pictures to help better explain things. It's a great book for a beginner hunter, as well as an experienced one. I definitely recommend this.
5 out of 5 stars

Monthly bump. Thanks for all the support. Before we know it, hunting season will be upon us!
