I think I give up on BT, Miley help?
« on: September 18, 2016, 02:34:13 PM »
Year 3 I've yet to ever see a BT buck, and only 3-4 does. I give up. Where can I find mules on public land without going too far into eastern was?

Don't give up just yet I started hunting with my older brother when I was 10 and didn't even put my cross hairs on a BT buck until 8 years latter. It made it that much more rewarding. It's not always about the kill. The joy of being challenged  to test your survival skills and tracking skills is worth it for me. Just keep going. Don't give up.

Just got down From scouting and bear hunting I spotted 3 bucks and 8 does and I would never had seen any of them if I don't sit patiently behind good glass and pick apart every square inch of the terrain that's how well they blend in
Patience and move real slow and there also has to be deer
Blacktails are smarter then what most people think

If you go in thinking your options are nill then you have already failed.  Blacktails are not some mysterious animal that can't be found or killed they just are good at standing still while you walk by 30 yards away.  Public land mule deer hunting is not going to be any easier I assure you that.  You go into it with more pressure and a three point minimum.  I don't know factual numbers but if I had to guess there are probably twice as many blacktails in this state compared to mule deer.

They're probably one of the toughest deer to hunt. Hang in there.
