Prime yet on the wet side?
« on: October 22, 2016, 02:51:56 PM »
Curious how prime everything is on the wetside.  Raccoon and muskrat mostly what I am looking for. Then is anybody buying them in the round.  Don't have my fur she'd set up yet.  But working on it.

I would not trap raccoons until the middle of November especially this year. Muskrat you could probably start on the first but I think I would wait a while on them too. Thanksgiving weekend was always my start when prices were better. At least that Is when the season usually started back in the day and things were just getting prime.
I did used to trap coyotes in Oct. They started getting good about the 15th of Oct.
Very bad prices so no use taking early stuff. Hold off 'till it is good and prime IMHO.
Nobody taking fur in the round or the grease. Put that first two weeks of season into finishing your fur shed.
