How Canadian weather effects Washington State
« on: December 01, 2016, 10:48:09 AM »
Does anyone out there have insight on where to check for weather and freezing temps in Canada to indicate when we will get new birds in Washington?  I hunt the west side.  I remember a few years ago we had a slow, warm early December and a buddy of mine went up to Vancouver and sent me pics of millions of ducks.  It seemed that after they got real freezing temps up there, the birds moved down.  I check Kamloops.  My hunting partner checks Calgary for some reason? Any thoughts on this topic?

You need to check out the Temps in the Frazier Valley  to get a good idea. The valley  runs nw into the interior. That cold air colliding with the coast will cause snow and freezing Temps across all the farm land from Delta (coast) to Chilliwack and farther inland. BC weather spills across the border to Suman Lynden area because it's all part of the same valley.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Check Grand Prairie & Quesnel BC for more accurate weather. Your looking to far south, he's looking to Far East. Birds north of Calgary area can end up more central U.S.

Yes, we Definitely feel that Fraizer Valley air up here in Lynden this time of the year!

You might give this site a look. Just remember that since it is a Canadian site the temps are in Celsius.  http://weather.gc.ca/jet_stream/index_e.html
