How is paying a guide not legal?

It was a joke, and clearly not a very good one!

After a post by a guy ("Tegansdad" dad, if I recall correctly) who hired Barbour to guide his young daughter a couple three years ago it may not be that much of a joke after all.  I remember the dad and daughter getting the creeps big time while sitting in the blind with Barbour.

I watched that tv episode and it turned out to be a Washington record elk.
So what's your point?
Shane was only  going to charge me $2700 a piece for my daughters

I'm not sure if that's legal...

Hahahahahaha

Ever heard of a TV hunting personality go on a free hunt and NOT give the outfitter a rave review for public consumption?  Yeah, me neither. :twocents:

The sad part about that is that people who don't know better see the review and book a hunt with the guide...just my two cents!

I really hope you succeed man, I personally can't stand the idiot!! I also can't stand what he has done to the elk heard around here, I hope that that it becomes illegal  to hunt from 304th from Orville rd to mountain hwy and any lands north!! I could kill a bull on my property every year and have no desire to do so, I shot a rag horn 5x6 the first year I built my house and wow, talk about depressing, killing a bull in my back yard, definitely not a difficult hunt and keep in my mind this is my own personal opinion, to each their own, it always makes me laugh when some chuckle head cracks a big old bull in their yard and then loads it in their truck and drives around like they chased that bull down in the darkest reaches of hells canyon... :chuckle: ever since Barbour has been "outfitting" the elk numbers have dwindled big time!! Poor elk are gonna have take up residence at the graham Safeway if they want to be safe  :chuckle: I personally don't know anyone that would book a hunt with this "awesome " outfitter  :chuckle:

Does the elk herd in that area migrate at all or are they pretty much resident elk?
I've always seen them around 304th while heading towards the Ashford area to hunt

They move around the area, but many of the spots that used to be a sanctuary for them have been leased out to guys like Barbour.  I haven't personally seen a huge dip in the herd where I have cameras up, but there is definitely less mature bulls.

They can't even cycle through my place anymore until after all the seasons are over, they get shot up bad on 3 sides, I used to have elk on my placehear around, we had seventeen bulls, all 3 point or better, two of which were pushing 400 class living in our back yard for 3 months, that changed when one of barbours clients shot one of the big bulls and wounded it, it made it from behind the lake all the way to ok hwy where they gave up looking, it died in a timber patch by the kapowsin air field.. I think duck huntn and goose huntn is fine but the deer and elk don't need to be shot up, there really isn't a whole lot of sport in it that's for sure..

Sounds awful similar to the BT sniffer's video-taped comments as he shuffled through some airport, after being caught dry shaving his nation-wide audience .  He wasn't fooling anyone here and he knew he was as stuck as a bug on fly-paper so he conjured up some cockamamie archery hunters vs rifle hunters canard to try and deflect from what the topic of discussion revolved around.

That's balgona. A hunter upset at elk being wounded in their neighborhood isn't obligated to support that garbage.

Jonathon you might want to read the whole thread if you already haven't he's not just talking about that bull they couldn't find at first but people talking about they wouldn't hunt that way and that anybody who does is not a real Hunter or that people are acting like they are their personal pets.
These are wild animals people you hunt them how you can in certain situations. Just because a person didn't hike 20miles looking for elk and then didn't stalk it in their bare feet in the snow doesn't mean they don't appreciate the animal
This is the type of thing that we as hunters should support other hunters.we are our own worse enemy

This post is all about my land and no critters on it any more and all that.Like i said i dont know this guy and dont care about this guy but i do care about hunters coming together.if there is no hard evidence with this guy doing anything illegal then why is this thread even here.the op said he and a friend worked with him for a period of time and while working with him they didnt like what he (and them as well i take it)were doing to the HUNTING WORLD.post like these calling someone out like this is bad  :twocents: without facts.if there were facts then i would guess LEO would be on it and this thread would not be appreciated by them.  :twocents:

He quoted a specific post and addressed his remarks to, "posts like this one..." Sounds like I got the context just fine.
