Wolf spotted eastbound 18 in Snoqualmie
« on: December 09, 2016, 12:35:06 PM »
I had a wolf jump in front of my car eastbound 18 today at 0630.  Was not a yote, and was all black and looked to be a bit bigger than a larger german shepard- didn't see a collar.  Was right before the raging river bridge coming up to the i90/hwy 18 intersection.

I'm sure I was not alone, as there was a car or two behind me that slammed on their brakes, as well as one on coming.

Reported to WDFW.

How did it look in your crosshairs?

Yeah, confirmed road kill black wolf a couple years ago east of North Bend. They think the same wolf was on trail cameras in Snoqualmie proper right before that. I have the pic. I'll see if I can find it.

This camera is in Snoqualmie. They think it's the wolf that got hit on I-90.

Hopefully this one gets hit soon too. Maybe it'll be enough to confirm a north bend pack.

They have to confirm breeding to make a pack official.

Jackelope, my wife and I saw that wolf on I90 in MP41 right before it got hit.  It came out onto the shoulder right as we went past.  That picture looks like it. It was black, and a wolf without question.  It got hit right after we went by.  It occurred to me that maybe WSDOT should start dumping all the roadkill animals in the median strip.  Seems like running over them is the only way we will be able to control wolves in Washington.
And I think God must be a cowboy at heart

He made grass and trees and mountains and a horse to be a friend
And trails to lead ol' cowboys home again

Brother hit a black bear in his subie just east of North Bend... it got his attention!

I was following tracks today that were no coyotes over by the raging river.
