& in the summer heat - nice going!

Trying to get pops ready for his Mill Creek Watershed tag later this year! We were sweating bullets 15 minutes into the hike!

WOW!  Did you put a tape on those?  That is some serious bone.

Left side 6 pt scored 165 3/8

Right side 7 pt scored 180 5/8

Puts him at 386 with 40inch score credit.

If left side was matched he'd be a 370 bull, but if the right side was matched he'd be a 400 bull. Love seeing big mature genetics!

Great set congratulations, thanks for sharing, my knee is still not good after surgery I'm hoping to get out in September to hunt and help a buddie fill a quality elk tag/ its fustrating for me but seeing that theres still a few sets out in the woods gives me hope.

There's still plenty to find out there! I'd say the majority of the ones I find aren't freshies! And still haven't found anything as impressive as your bull!

Hope the healing speeds up for you!

Found it hiking up to the base of Mt. Ranier in a river bottom. Wasn't exactly shed hunting but keeping my eyes open. Cool find in a cool spot

Sweet, I love nice heavy  4's like that. Good job.
Does your dog find many for you?I'm thinking of getting one for that purpose and curious what percentage the dog picks up
compared to how many you find.

He's found two elk sheds and three, maybe four deer sheds this year. And he's just over a year old, will get better as he gets older. He is primarily a duck dog, but I took two or three weeks when he was a few months old to reinforce positive feedback when he brought back bones or other good smelling stuff. He usually finds at least one bone of some sort per day while working in the woods. I don't think you need one specifically for shed hunting, just find a good nose with high hunting drive and they ought to pick it right up!

cool,thanks.
My niece gets all my chewed up sheds for her lab which is mainly a duck dog and that thing is super motivated now to find sheds.which got me thinking, maybe it would up my numbers or mainly help me find the specific ones i'm looking for.

It certainly wouldn't hurt! I used this to get some good pointers to start with, then just kinda kept working on it by myself http://www.gundogsupply.com/gun-dog-shed-antler-training-dvd.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cse&utm_term=GUN-DOG-SHED-ANTLER-TRAINING-DVD&gclid=Cj0KCQjwoZTNBRCWARIsAOMZHmGwqZL-NGKYMA-yWUb3of0Fr7V_wVRgYHleynqSjd6EcaUD-zR__64aAmT8EALw_wcB
