I run a 26" duplex hunter with dt1.  Love the pack and don't plan on changing anytime soon.  Packed my bull and deer out last year and was very comfortable with no complaints.

DO IT. I have the new style hunter duplex frame with 26inch stays and love it. Packed some really heavy loads with it and did a few backpacking trips. I have the timberline1 bag

I also use my timberline1 bag for day hunting as well. Throw my sweat shirt and jacket in there. Then debone whatever I kill and throw it in the pack don't have to walk back to camp

How difficult is it to adjust the shoulder straps up on the new Hunter duplex frames?

I'm running a 24 with a woodsman and swap to a cargo panel for load hauling. The shoulder straps and easy to adjust and play around with till you make it perfect. I'd suggest watching all of the YouTube videos on the packs and frames. Aron and company do a good job of going through everything and explaining.

I didn't see anything about them being waterproof. Do they have rain covers or are they pretty much waterproof?

The packs aren't really water proof. I would consider it water resistant. I put all my clothes in E-vent dry stuff bags. They are tough and super lightweight. I would get the large size it's about the perfect size of your looking

I like duck don't have issues with the bag soaking through with the exception of one nasty mountain storm.  I just use waterproof sacks, and big Ziplocs for my stuff.  I run a dt2 with a bikini frame.  My wife has the new ultralight frame with a dt1 it's a nice setup.

Even if the Cordura was totally waterproof, the seams and zippers aren't. A 2 oz pack cover fixes that problem though.

For consistent heavy duty use, Kifaru is your friend.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I'm sure you won't be sorry. I have 2 Kifaru's, and love them.

Depending where you live, I could help you adjust your new pack to fit you correctly. High end packs like Kifaru, only work well if adjusted right.
