Well Ben welcom to the funest sport out there , ive been talking to big ugly birds for 15 years , one thing i will tell you is dont hunt around livestock , turkeys will eat there droppings before anything else , its the easy food and they will stay on it if present , if you see them , if you move they see you , no matter the distance , a turkey can read a dime from 100 yards sooooo , good luck out there , if anyone has a clean field tohunt im in !!
Whats wrong with a corn fed bird?

Bucks2ducks ,,,,,, freegn hillariouse !!!  Antways the special minded ( science peeps ) say there are live bacteria that the birds cant fight off and it wrecks the natural protien build up in turkeys and is not able to kill that bacteria so we eat it some how , all i know is im not hunting by cattle , ive got enough doctor visits in my liveing hell .

I've been hunting and eating wild turkeys for 25 years, I've killed plenty around cattle. I've never heard about this, please post where you got your info.

sounds like fake news to me. We shouldn't be spreading things like this unless it's true. Not trying to bust your balls just FYI

In the midwest I would bet 3/4 of all turkeys killed live near cattle.  I have killed quite few birds on cattle farms.  Never heard of that before either.

You don't need to call me self-righteous you made a statement about turkeys that eat poop are bad. I asked you to post your info. And you came back with name calling. So I  still call it fake news. A guy said this and let's run with it. I'm 57 been eating wild game most of my life, from bears to wild rabbits. You do all the Googleing you want there's always an expert on BS on the Internet. Good luck with your mountain birds, I will hunt them where I find them.
BTW, cook your pork and it won't do that. Now you made me hungry for a pork chop.

I'm not sure what my plans are yet. My husband is most often my partner, but we may be able to team up with someone who wants to get out there. Feel free to contact me if you're interested.
Disclaimer : we're pretty new to turkey hunting.

I will be bow hunting from a blind in Mead, WA (a lil NE of Spokane). I hope to fill my 1st tag this weekend. But would love to go again with others, I also have a new shotgun to use, so will be stalking through public and IEP land. So, if anyone wants to tag team Toms, let me know.
