I'm going to tag this thread because I have been seriously considering making a small forge and taking up smithing as a small hobby.

Waiting on a piece of equipment to show up and that didn't pan out. So I decided to dive in to my forge build :IBCOOL:

I have it all built. Got to hook up my burner tomorrow at some point and get a test fire roaring in it :IBCOOL:

I'll post some pics in another thread, when I get a chance.

Also got a quench tube build today to.

I contacted Steve at Incandescent-Iron, he doesn't have a class until Aug, so he gave me two names to check with and I'm chatting with David at Morgan-Jade.  His are $160 for an 8 hour day.  I also have a good friend who lives near me who has been doing this for a while and has agreed to teach me what he knows.  He's an old SERE instructor, so he likes to teach.  :)

I'd love to join ya with David, that's very cheap for an eight hour class. What does the class cover?
. I sent Steve an email and never heard from him

Here is David's e-mail.  blacksmithdavidmji@gmail.com  I asked him for the Intro to Black Smithing class.  He does 2 to 3 days depending on what I want and what I need.  I told him I would not be able to start until after spring bear over in Idaho was done, I'm just too busy for the next 3 or 4 weeks.  He said not problem.  I'm headed down to the Tri-Cities tonight to buy a 140# Kohlswa anvil and a post vice.  :)  :)  :)
