Early spring

This bunch started with 17 last fall, still has 16.  Bachelor party so far

yep it's starting, the flocks haven't quite busted up with the dominant toms yet.

Starting to bust up a bit around my place, lot of noise in the mornings. but still mostly in the big winter flocks.  Roads are gonna be nasty for the youth hunt.  Snow is mostly gone on the south slopes and open fields but still nasty on the north slopes and anything that's shaded.  Still some drifts over 4 ft on the higher roads. Doesn't appear the winter was too hard on them and most are still down in the lower areas.  I suspect they'll be pretty skinny, I might wait to the fall hunt to take one for eating.

Starting to see individual or small groups of toms, one or two together.  Hen groups still large for the most part in the SE.  Snow absent down low and on the foothills, but now continual periods of rain.  Forecast calls for more right up through the opening.
