Drew spring bear
« on: March 17, 2017, 12:29:59 PM »
This will be my first time hunting spring bear on the east side.   :IBCOOL:  Plan on sleeping in the back of my truck once the time comes and cant wait to share a story either successful or unsuccessful with you guys and gals   compared to fall bear hunting is there any difference in approach or things to look for?

Sleep in, I've never gotten up early for bears.  Get some permithen or what ever it's called and spray down your clothes, boots and packs , it will help with the ticks.  Glass the hillsides, stay around the green line or snow line. Keep your eyes open, and be patient. Don't burn up all your vacation time in the beginning of the hunt, it's a long season and it only gets better.

I've seen first thing AM bears, but you're correct, most bears show up in the 8-11AM range and then 3-Dark.

Last 45 minutes is usually pretty exciting.
