I can fit in a couple more spring bear hunters in Idaho. We use hounds and/or bait, bear are about half black and half off-colors. Hunt includes meals, lodging, guiding, and trophy care. Cost is $2950 plus 6% sales tax and $197 for licensing. If you didn't draw a tag in WA and want a fun spring bear hunt that's not too far from home give me a call.

I've been thinking about trying to do a hound hunt. Sounds like it would be a blast. How often are your hunters successful with hounds as opposed to the bait?

I've got hunts available June 10-14, June 17-21, and June 24-28. We can adjust those a day either way if needed. Our normal hunt method is to hunt hounds in the morning and bait in the evening but we can focus on only hounds or only bait, whatever you prefer.

When we hunt both ways it seems about 40% hounds and 60% bait, you usually get a bear by about the 3rd day one way or the other, but it's not a problem to focus hunting by only one method or the other, the hunt may take a couple days longer if only using one method or we might kill the first day, it's hunting, you never know how it will work out in advance. If you decide halfway through you want to sit at a bait one evening that's fine too, we can change the hunt as needed as the hunt progresses

I still have an Idaho bear hunt available June 26-30 for 1 or 2 bear hunters. More than half our hunters have killed bear on the first day of their hunt. Our last hunter passed three bear the first day. On the second day he passed two bear. On the third day he tried to shoot a big bear but his bow blew up when he drew. On the fourth day he killed the first bear he saw with a rifle, unfortunately it was smaller than most of the bear he passed earlier, but he was happy and had a great hunt. We don't always see that many bear but it's not uncommon, if you are a good quiet hunter you will usually have a great hunt.

We normally hunt hounds in the morning and bait in the afternoon, if you don't want to hunt one or the other that's fine too.
