Bino Harness!!!
« on: March 31, 2017, 08:21:33 PM »
I'm wanting to try a light-ish bino harness that has a pocket for my rangefinder. It needs to fit a pair of 10x42 ultravids and a Leica rangefinder and nothing else. Looking at the something like Alaska guide creations or maybe the new muley freak harness, anybody have any input??

AKG rocks. I have a KISS max and it's awesome. You could get a FHF rangefinder pocket and just attach it to the side.

Or go FHF. I also have a FHF and the straps are smaller but I like the lid of the AKG more. No worries with either they have sizes to fit you.

Love my FHF harness. I tried a few other and it fit my glass the best.

Check out the bino harness by Solo Hunter. I use a kuiu with an fhf ranger finder attached to the side and it works real well. But the design and look of the solo hunter one looks pretty sweet!

I just bought the Vortex. For $49 at Sportsmans I can work around the top opening towards me rather than away. I have yet to use it in the field and may later decide to replace it but it seems like a great harness.  :twocents:

Fhf or agc with a fhf rangefinder pouch. I have both and like the fhf for better comfort, and the agc for better bino protection. No problems with either drawing a bow.

I notice people keep mentioning adding the fhf pouch to the AGC harness, anybody running the AGC CUB harness that already has the front pocket included? Thoughts? It looks functional but looks kinda bulky

It's not bulky at all. Came a lot smaller than I thought. Fits 10x42 leupold Mojave and my leupold 1200 perfect. Not a lot of wasted space. I also have a havalon piranha in one of the little side pockets

I really like my Kuiu harness. It is comfortable, stays in tight to my chest, and works great for archery or rifle. And I can get my binos out with one hand. I can only compare it to Badlands, Sitka and Vortex's harness', but Kuiu gets my vote.

I'm gonna give one to the MuleyFreak harness, it's a prettyl slick rig for carrying binos and your rangefinder. It opens just as how the Kuiu one does, away from your body and there are no zippers or magnets or any of that stuff that can make noise or get damaged. Also, the rangefinder pouch is a zip close, but it keeps your rf safe from any and all weather. It'v extremely comfortable, light, and holds a nice tight fit to your body, and it comes with a rain fly to go over the whole system! I also like how the binos tether to the harness, as they are attached on a separate tether that connects to the harness, where as the Kuiu tethers are apart of the harness. In all, it comes to personal preference but I really like the MuleyFreak one :twocents:

Thanks for the review on the muley freak buckhunter, ordered mine Monday so hopefully it'll ship soon! Looked to be just a little bit lighter than the ACG so we'll see how I like it

I've also been considering running a Nino harness, but have been hesitant because I worry having the harness straps under a backpack all day will be uncomfortable. For people who run a Nino harness under a pack all day, how do the harnesses feel under a backpack?
