Lot of birds
« on: April 20, 2017, 06:56:05 AM »
Cant seem to get a pic to post, but after wading thru a ton of jakes and getting outsmarted by a big old boy (he actually just got very lucky) I took a nice long beard Sunday.  Birds were really on the move over the weekend and big flocks seemed to be breaking up even as you watched them.  Very hot right now, but flocks of jakes can drive you crazy. Plenty left for those of you who couldn't get out over the Easter weekend.  Still have to watch what backroads you take, lots of wash outs and some very, very slippery mud. (got stuck in a couple of places I've never had trouble before). I'm in Stevens county.

Congrats on the bird and thanks for the report. We're on our way over today to sling some mud, cut open some roads if needed and yak at some birds.

Congratulations!  I too am dealing with TONS of jakes.  There are so numerous, that they are ganging up on mature birds and chasing them.... :chuckle:
