Very limited, most is owned by the big W and they have a pay permit going. Good Luck!

 :yeah:

Unless you plan on buying a timber permit or own property I'd look elsewhere.

Also the south end along the river saw some serious landowner poaching a few years ago so that herd is pretty small. You would be better to look elsewhere.

GMU 506 Has a fair amount of land that is accessible for free.  Hancock, TCI (Campbell group) and may others still allow free access but is generally behind locked gates allowing walk-in hunting only. There is also a fair amount of state property in the mix also.  Do your research, know your boundaries.  There are plenty of elk, however hoof rot is creeping into it on the east boundary.

Look at Ryderwood (530 I think) to the east. More public DNR land is available there and some longview Fiber which isn't permit only.

Longview Fibre doesn't own any land. Weyco bought it all up

Do you have a Weyerhaeuser Pe Ell South access permit? If not, access in that unit will be tough. I believe your only chance would be in the south side of the unit.
