I gotta ask, is this on the same lake as the guy from the Alaska show on Netflix?
Dick Proenneke?
He place is in the Nushagak drainage in SW Alaska in the Aleutian range. Brooks range is above the Artic Circle in northern Alaska.

No, much newer show, "Life Below Zero".  The guy's name is Glen Villeneuve.  The show says it's on Chandalar, but like many shows, it portrays him as being out in the middle of nowhere with nobody around and the nearest road 60 miles away.

Got it, I'll have to check the show out!

I myself wouldn't mind more information on the property, sounds interesting at the least.

As for if it is featured on TV, sounds like it is....

the cabin will sleep 6  there is a full bed upstairs and 3 cots and the couch pulls out into a bed downstairs, 4 people very comfortably, no the airstrip is owned by the state, there is a smaller strip that is private, but the big strip is public

the moose is from 2 seasons ago, i havent gotten to spend much time there the last few hunting season, thats part of the reason we are selling it, there are plenty of caribou they winter there, the moose hunting is very good, so is the sheep and bear

I just saw this.  I have contacted a couple of friends to see if they are interested.  We would do the minimum down of 50K, but most likely a cash out deal if they are willing to split this with me.  If this is a go, I will contact you by the end of the week.

I just can't justify owning this outright at this time in my life, otherwise this would be a done deal.  Actually, I would need to find a new wife too, as she doesn't like the mountains quite like I do.   :bash:

I have flown into Chandalar Lake and floated the river down.  Its a beautiful spot, several cabins surround the lake, sheep all over the mountain across the lake from the landing strip, seems like a lot of country accessible via 4wheeler in there as well.  I do believe that show below zero with the young couple was filmed there.  Beautiful spot wish I had the extra cash laying around...

Just curious, what does it take to get there, and how many hours from Seattle? One of the hardest parts would be getting meat home to Washington from that distance even after freezing it a guy would have to have a portable freezer to get it to the airport for cargo shipment.

moving there would fix the biggest negative of needing a guide to hunt!
