My favorite Aunt wants to go duck/goose hunting
« on: June 04, 2017, 08:42:50 PM »
For the most part my Grandmother raised me but my favorite Aunt, Jackie, did her share as well. From getting me my very first swimming lessons to having a boyfriend who played harmonica and scandalized the family, Jackie was always the coolest Aunt of them all.

Now she's 75 years old and has been very happy to hear about me going back to hunting last fall. In fact, she has asked me to take her duck hunting this fall, and when your 75 year old favorite Aunt asks you to do something, you tend to want to do it.

So I'm looking for recommendations on guided duck (and goose) hunts that would be amenable to 75 year old woman who can still get around well for her age, but is, in fact, 75.

Any words of advise?

Paul Sullivan of Paul's Ponds and Burbank Guide Service would be my first choice for an eldery hunter. Mainly, Paul's Pond for ducks.

:IBCOOL: That would also be my choice and the chance of getting some shooting is almost assured. Plus it is an easy trip to the blind and the location is close to lodging if you want to stay the night before.

Thank you all, please keep the idea's coming. I sent email, and called, to the first suggested place but haven't heard back so I'll reach out to some others as well...

Paul and Susanne are great folks, I have used them many times. You can request a regular blind for geese if you aunt has problems getting in and out of pit blinds. The also have special room rates at the Red Lion Inn for their hunters.
