The only problem with setting cameras now is come rifle season odds are those bulls wont even be close to there summer range.

Just curious but why would you hang cameras now for the rifle hunt?  Do you expect them to be in the same areas or are you just looking to inventory them?

Just gives me a reason to go walk around in the woods. and who doesnt like seeing pictures of animals! Was up there the last couple days and had some decent animals on the cameras, just super smokey, couldnt see anything.

Luckily that tag encompasses a huge area, so he'll have options. It would be crappy to have the area you've scouted pulled out from under you though.

Any idea how much they are thinking of expanding the closure?  Is this because of the American River fire? 🔥

Plenty of land to hunt in the 356 south of bumping road unless the district ranger closes the whole district which I can picture happening.

Probably will only happen if another lightning bust happens and the Ranger closes the district  to the public.

Going to be crowded in the areas that are open.  Unfortunate that 1502 is out as well.

How likely is this?  Is it actually being discussed?
