I cant speak for the OP, But I was able to hunt ( not shooter ) with a friend who drew the quality rifle and although we left the big ones for the bull tag holders, he was stoked to get his first bull and the whole elk rut experience! It was truly unforgettable. I would love to see some pics of the brutes that were taken out of there on that tag.

Any archery or muzzy guys who'd be willing to PM me with what they saw in the Bumping unit while hunting would be appreciated.  I've been scouting numerous areas in the unit.

The are a few bulls still talking in the central part of 356 in the wilderness. Have only seen one today. Too foggy to see em where I am at. Good news is there is 4" of snow where I'm standing right now. Seen 3 this morning standing in front of my cam lower down in the unit.

Do you have the modern tag as well?

Nope. Last year and didn't hunt the right way. Wish I could have it again this year to get the terrible feeling out of me. I mess around in there all the time.

Are the trails open that were closed along the Bumping River road or have they opened everything up since the fire?

Thank you. So if you were 70 years old with a bull elk tag what area would you recommend?
