Mt. Spokane North Moose Tag
« on: June 15, 2017, 11:57:09 AM »
So I Drew a Mt. Spokane North Cow Moose tag.  Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share a little info on the area.  I used to hunt the Colville area but haven't for years.  I plan on doing plenty of scouting before Oct. 1st but just need a few ideas on where to start.  Thanks for the help!!!

Google "Inland Empire Paper Company" and get their permit, that will give you access to a good portion of the unit.

Congrats on the tag!

I hunt IEP land for deer and see cows quite regularly when I am in the woods.  It should not be a problem to fill that tag.

My son drew a youth moose tag for this unit.  I'll be honest, I know nothing about moose hunting.  My son's only 11, so he'll be counting on me.  Any tips??

Yes,  shoot on the uphill slope of the road.  I'm not being a wise arse either, that's the #1 tip I have and it comes with experience

Sorry but Chris McCandless was the first thing that popped in my head when I read this.   :chuckle:

I had the tag last year.  See the moose to the left.  PM me for any info, I'll be glad to help.  Buy the IEP pass like the others said.  I can point you to other areas as well on timber company land.  The IEP land was pretty much the only non-walk in land available.  I killed my moose on the IEP land.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Maybe, but if you saw my son shoot, you'd think more along the lines of Chris Kyle!!

good evening firefighter 12, my name is Mike and I too drew a cow tag, in area117. I'm USAF retired/ disabled, so I have time to scout the area. Is your tag in area 117?The state rules/regs aren't easy to understand. I will take what time I need to recon the area, never been up there, I live outside of Clarkston, lifelong hunter. If you have the same area I would be glad to share intel with you. Thanks in advance and good luck.  fishingfool :hello:
