Special Deer Permits
« on: April 21, 2017, 07:39:24 PM »
When I was reading the regulations for antlerless permits I noticed it says "second deer" for units 124 and 133. So that means you can only shoot a doe in those units if you already harvested your buck for the year; or can you fill the freezer with doe meat early then hunt your buck? I don't put in for permits usually so I am confused, any help is very much appreciated. THANK YOU

For the weapon you choose, you can shoot a doe and buck during that season (if drawn). Doesn't matter which one comes first. If I'm reading your question right.

Hunt dates are posted as is. If you get drawn, you can fill which ever tag you want first during that time frame.

"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted...If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job."

If the general season and the permit season overlap, yes.
Antlered rabbit tastes like chicken
