As a FYI if you happen to bend or break those Black Diamond hiking poles you can purchase sections of them. I have bent and broke a few.

That's my sister in law's bent pole. She bent it on the AT last month and hasn't contacted them yet. My Eastons are still straight LOL.

Yeah, there's about 40-ish nannies and kids just below the rock face straight up from my left foot.

Thank you. I've got a ways to go to catch up I guess!!

I've got a couple more weekends of family stuff to handle then I'll be back out looking again. Hard to believe I can be mountain goat hunting in a month. I do plan to wait a while for them to hair up and will probably hunt in early October.

Something I've put a lot of time into thinking about. I think I'm good from a gear standpoint. I do worry a little about early season snow, but maybe I'm overthinking it.

What are you thinking for a mount if you get a nice goat with good hair? Are you going to do a shoulder or a half or full body mount?

Except for access, I would take snow over rain in that country, but you are wise to wait IMHO.

Well....that's a tough one at this point. Shoulder pedestal is what I'm thinking, but we're gearing up for a new house, so the goat may end up euro'd for now with the cape taxidermy tanned. Once we get the new place, then decide on the mount so I know which way I want it facing, form, etc. Hopefully that makes sense.

Is it that much more to get the whole hide tanned as opposed to just the cape? You can make a spot for a full.body mountain goat a criteria for the new place lol.
