I read posts on this site almost every day...for a long time. This has to be the craziest post thread yet. We clearly have a thief, a victim and then so many second guessers going down rabbit holes or victim blamer's...I am amazed. Morals or lack of morals  are clear...  If you cut a secured or even take a non secured camera from a tree that is not yours, you are a thief. If you find a camera in the middle of a dirt road that fell off the back of a truck, and you cant identify an owner, then your the benefactor of another's poor luck. If anyone needs advice, I recommend you do not be a thief.... To the original poster, I hope you find the thief and justice is served.

I admit it looks bad for the dude, and I hate a thief also, but wouldn't it be funny if he was identified, and proven he didn't do it?  I too have walked through the woods with a pair of bolt cutters to cut the Python cable on my camera, because the lock had froze up.  I could very easily have walked by another cam, and had my pic taken.  But it does look bad for him.  I'll just wait until it's proven he stole it before I convict him.

No way somebody here or FB hasn't put a name to the thief!

He's probably paying people in game cameras to keep their mouths shut.

Trail Camera thieves are scum!   Not only do they steal a camera, but all the work it represents.  I can't stand thieves!!!  Sadly many hunters will do about anything if they have no fear of getting caught.    :bash:

Interesting choice of words. "Many"?
Notice I didn't say "most".  It is "many". I've personally had several cameras stolen, and almost everyone I know that runs a lot of cameras has.   :twocents:

Setting out some cameras tomorrow, this thread inspired me to write a few messages. I did put my phone number at the top if someone wants to see some pics. I'd rather share than have someone try to steal it.

I wrote stuff on my bear box, it said don't be a dirtbag thief and steal this camera and said it has a code for the camera anyway.  They tried to steal it anyway, guess they were dirt bags!
“In common with”..... not so much!!
