Salt attracts deer and other animals. Deer attract bears. It would be hard to make a case that salt isn't bear bait.

Wow.

Salt is bait.  If you don't agree good luck and if you get ticketed for shooting a bear that was on that salt that's your deal.

You would have been pissed off if you shot that bear, got a ticket, came on here complaining that you didn't know salt was a bait and everyone chimed in "yeah I knew it was bait and you were going to get busted but I didn't say anything to you."  The complaint wouldn't be that we were on a baiting witch hunt it would be that we didn't help a fellow hunter not make an obvious mistake.

Nothing wrong with salt and bears on camera.  Big no no if you shoot a bear that you knew was coming into salt.

Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Thanks for all your great info, but after being accused of illegal activities I will have to keep my trail cam pics to myself,I'm sorry if anybody that didn't get to see them.I will not repost them .Was going to post the bull moose, bucks and some of the other 400 pics I had in a two week soak.
I was gonna post them here and was gonna be my thread for the entire year up till September 1, Can't post them now do to legal reasons cause of salt I guess.

Don't engage. It's really not worth it. I will borrow that form for my company business however.

I heard this from a master baiter once and you can take this with a grain of salt, "salt is an attractant/bait".

you're correct Pman, I got a little jaded with the whining.

Hunter399 I just caught this thread, while you might perceive that everyone's jumping on your case that's not what I see.  No one knows you, no one knows your level of understanding of what the laws might be when it comes to baiting.  You should be thankful for everyone's concern when they thought perhaps you might not have known which is a very easy conclusion to come by with your words.  I know the laws better than most and even I get a surprise now and then.

Taking your pictures away is a childish move.  What it will lead to is loosing post editing privileges like a lot of other forums.
