Just thought I would report back.  Went to the convention in Grangeville, Idaho.  Had a great time.  Got to meet some great guys.  The fellowship was fun.  A tad disappointed that no vendors showed up, but still had a lot of fun, got to see some good demos from guys catching wolves.  Beautiful location and nice weather.  Had a great time with an Idaho Warden who is an avid trapper from the Unit 12 area.

I'm going to guess 30 folks, with about 18 to 20 of them being trappers, the rest were family members.  My understanding is the State Trapper's organization fractured a few years ago and is now in 3 organizations.  2 members of the Intermountain Fur Harvesters were there and olive branches were extended.  Seems the new leadership is trying to mend old wounds.  You know the same old BS politics that seem to rear its ugly head in these organization from time to time.....at least that is what I gathered, not really sure of all the details and really don't care about that sort of stuff.  Money and egos can be hard to overcome.

There were 6 IMFH Members and all are trappers. We were there to support all trappers and houndsman. I don't know about money or egos.

Nice meeting you there!  That was just my take on the past issues that caused the State's Trapper Association to splinter.  . I most certainly could be wrong, I wasn't there all those years ago.  I was just going off of the tidbits I heard during several conversations.  Really doesn't matter why things splintered back then.  I think it's a good thing you guys are talking and trying to speak as one voice even if you remain 3 groups.  That seemed to be the common theme, stand united.  See you at the WA Rondy.
