I took the plunge two months ago.  Here is my new girl.

Where's the 10 inch lift, 40 inch tires, 26 inch wheels l.e.d. light bar on roof and grill, blimp sized fenders and 50 decals of all the product manufacturers you bolted on your truck? :dunno:

Best word of advice I can give is don't buy a diesel based on brand loyalty.
The brand will not be loyal back.
Research all 3 in various years, in the end you'll find they are problematic.  Just gotta decide which problems are worth having

Don't sweat the DEF.  You can go 5K miles if you aren't towing, and 2-3K if you are towing or hauling heavy, between refills.  Filling the DEF is about as tough as filling your washer fluid.

Thousands of trucks deal with it every day.  It's no big deal.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

Had a 2006 2500 Duramax that I put 300K on it with very minimal repairs in 8 years, had a 2014 2500 Dodge Cummins (granted motor was great rest of truck was crap)  POS that I put two trannies repairs, ball joints, rear axle seals, wheel bearing, computer and a body that dented like a Coors light beer can on a night in Tuna town..  POS!  Traded it in at 40K for another 3500 Duramax - 2015 and now have 56K on it and back to smiling and enjoying the ride, comfort and the reliability.....     As an equal opportunity guy - Ford are cool too....

Thanks for all the replies, very mixed bag or pro's and con's which I somewhat expected.  I also like that no one brought up the Titan XD, silly Nissan trying to play in the big boy league.

9 years ago when I was looking for a new diesel pickup to replace my beloved Ford F250 6.9 diesel, I bought a Ford F350 V-10 gas. Been a great rig. Have not missed the diesel engine.
