well...
you could make a detour to Lee Wulff country while you're there.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

I'm applying for all three OIL tags, 10 or 11 points for sheep and 9 or 10 for goat and moose.  I'll probably put in for an antlerless moose hunt, I could really use the meat as a newlywed.  But my true heart lies in a goat tag!

Putting in for ghost numbers on OIL tags but sheep.  Everything else will require more time than I can commit right now, but I've only got 1 point for each :P

The sheep units I'm applying for are in my backyard for the most part :chuckle:

While I can see your point about the time requirement, you can usually find some time somewhere.  It may not be the hunt of your dreams, but there is lots of help on this site to make it happen.  I personally think ghost points on OIL tags is a :bdid:, unless you absolutely know you are not available, like the military.  These tags are hard enough to get drawn for, each year you are not in the drawing means you have zero chance.  You have to look at your hunting lifespan with these tags.  Yes, you might be young, but the drawing odds on these tags still are not in your favor.  Most people that put in for these tags will never be drawn, and every year that you're not in the drawing reduces your chances even more.

:yeah:  I agree 110%. When your laying on your death bed I seriously doubt your going to be thinking "I wish I had worked one more week", but its quite possible you could be thinking "man I wish I had drawn one of those OIL tags"

On a side note, you wont see me complain about all you ghost point guys, knock yourselves out. Thats just less competition for me and my family :IBCOOL:

I have 11 points this year I will be putting in like always. It will probably be a person who has never hunted and his/her first year putting in for moose that draws the tag. We will see :dunno:

There was a woman out there this past season that drew her first year.

Its more school than work.  I've put school off long enough after graduating and probably wont have the time to cut class and scout for moose or goat.  With sheep I live within 30 minutes of 2 units that I have hunted all my life, much easier for me.

Hell if I drew the tag my boss would probably cut work and come with me :chuckle:

I drew last year, used a ghost draw in '05. Moved to Western Washington from Chewelah that year and had no time to take off of work to hunt.

Took me 20 years to finally draw the moose last year. I be now trying to get my last special species tag for Wa., sheep and also a second goat tag, I drew one in the Olympics before the point system on first try.
