Sig makes some dandy 10mm. I have pondered owning one more then once.

If you're a "Sig guy" then we think everything Sig makes is dandy, but if you're a Glock guy, yeah not so much and they'll  likely disagree very loudly, but, being the kind hearted Sig person I am, I won't let them being WRONG bother me to much.  :chuckle:

If you are trying to keep cost down or you just don't want to spend a grand on a new 10mm, there is certainly nothing wrong with Glocks and as 10mm's go, for the money, the G20 is a very good alternative.  Then there are those that really don't like the idea of the 1911's being SAO and I think that group makes a good argument as well.

Then there is the Sig 220 10mm which is back up there in price but it does put you back into a DA/SA gun and short of it's price point, gives you the best of both worlds.

good suggestion it seems like a lot of people LOVE the Sig220 and it pretty much is always number 1 or 2 for 10mm pistols. I just can't afford to spend 2-3times as much as the G20 to be honest but if I could thats what I would go with. I'm going to see if I can get to Safefire range maybe this weekend to try out the G20. Also I would say if you have any other ranges to suggest I'm open hearing about them as a lot of this is new for me.

I'm not sure how much handgun experience you have, but I STONGLY suggest you buy a .22 auto to use on grouse, and shoot the *censored* out of it. You'll get way more use out of the .22, and it'll help you become a better hand gunner. The recoil is almost nonexistent, and now that .22 ammo is more available it won't kill your budget to shoot the heck out of it. Hunting grouse with a .22 handgun is right near the top of my hunting list.

I couldn't imagine being without at least one .22 semi auto pistol.  They're soooooo much fun for anyone and everyone to shoot.

And if you want something with more "pop" than a standard 22LR take a look at the PMR-30 it's a 22mag semi auto with a 30rnd magazine.  The only real complaint I have with mine is they are very LOUD!!!

:chuckle: I am not to one sided on handgun brands. I own so many brands. Most all work good for me but some just don't seem to stick around long and glock is that one for me.

Have you looked at the model 40 MOS? longer barrel to squeak out more velocity . Plus the MOS looks awesome for quick target acquisition.
