Nate's LunkerArt Cards - End of Summer Sale!
« on: August 25, 2017, 12:52:49 AM »
Nate, founder and artist of "LunkerArt," is back and ready for hunting season!

He recently passed his hunting certification this summer, while still pursuing his passion for fishing, and is gearing up for his first hunt. In fact, this summer, Nate and his brother, Ben (aka YoungFowler), probably caught the most fish I've ever seen. While visiting family in Maine, we caught over 100 fish, 11 different species. And He's been getting inspired in new ways, as he's taken to fly fishing and is even tying his own flies, now. Honestly, I don't know how he stays so engaged in all of this...

THE STORY BEHIND LUNKERART

Nate, (now 11 years old) is the artist behind “Lunker Art.” In the spring of 2015, at the age of 9 years old, Nate began the journey to creativity while researching and reading about fishing – something he loves to do.

Inspired to catch more fish, he started drawing salmon, trout, bass, and exotic fish like marlin and tuna. Soon, his artwork began filling the house.  Each time he drew a new fish, bird, or animal, he researched and studied their differences, their habitat and their unique characteristics.

One day, I said, "Wow, you're getting to be quite the artist! Can I buy one of your originals?"
He laughed and said, "Sure! And I'll give 50% of the money to people in need." (Side note: Nate has a real heart for people and knows the value of giving.)

I purchased his very first drawing and now it sits framed on my desk at work. It didn’t take long for this action to prompt his mind into gear. He began to see an opportunity – to do something good with his newfound skill.

Thus, began "Lunker Art," a “give back” based entrepreneurship to feed his passion for fishing and help others. He began drawing originals, note cards and calendars to sell to folks interested in the great outdoors.

To date, Nate has filled his tackle box and purchased new art supplies with the proceeds of his sales. In addition, he has donated over $350 to charities he believes in, including, but not limited to:

  - Children of the Nations – www.cotni.org

  - CAST for Kids – www.castforkids.org

  - Delta Waterfowl Puget Sound Chapter - https://deltawaterfowl.org/

Enjoy using his artwork to appreciate the wonder of the outdoors!
Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. - Psalm 127:3-5
