I have a Leuopold RX600 and a 750. I wouldn't recommend either. I've been pretty disappointed.

My RX600 was made in China.  Explains things a bit.

I’m not surprised by the dramatic variances in experiences with the Sig. That mirrors my experience with Vortex optics for the most part; I’d have one that was disappointing and then a buddy would have one that was great. It seems like a QC issue to me.

I’ve settled on a two rangefinder set. I have the Terrapin for extreme ranging when I’m just out messing around and a used Leica 1600 that I picked up for a good price that comes hunting with me. Since very few people have a real, consistent use for a rangefinder capable of giving a range beyond 1200 yards I don’t think there’s much reason for the average shooter to worry about the ability to range a rock at 3000 yards. Even though I smile every time a get a reading on my stump at 4489 yards, I don’t have any practical use for that information. I do however have a use for a small and portable rangefinder that will give good readings to 1000-1200 yards max. Heck, I’m happy with 400 yards for my hunting rangefinder. I’ve never shot a big game animal beyond 360 yards!

I used to have a Leica (think it was a LRF 900) and it was a great rangefinder when it came out. Purchased roughly 10 years ago.  Two years ago stepped up to the Vortex because it was much smaller and lighter.  Honestly was expecting it to work better then my really old Leica but if anything I think it is worse then my old Leica. I find it hard to get ranges much past 500yrds with my Vortex 1000.  The max range I ever got with my Leica was just shy of 1000yrds and so far the farthest I've been able to get with Vortex 1000 is a little under 700yrds.

Leica 1600B won't range quite as far as the Sig 2400 but is significantly easier and more consistent on target - just point and shoot while the Sig 2400 has a very narrow beam but less magnification that makes picking the target more difficult.  If just ranging a hillside it doesn't matter but if trying to pick out an animal or stump the Leica can do it almost everytime handheld while the sig you almost need a tripod or steady rest.   Ranging a 500 yard stump in a clearcut the Leica will give me a consistent reading while the Sig is all over the place unless I get a solid rest and hold the beam steady on it.

I do use the 2400 for its longer range and ballistics but for general use I think the Leica even at  less than half the price is an easier unit to use for 800 yards and under.

I have a leupold RX600 that I have used for archery deer hunting with 0 issues and also for ranging 100-300 yard targets with 0 issues. Got the Leica Rangemaster 1600 for Christmas last year and those are really nice! We ranged a 15" steel gong at 1765 yards this last summer while out having some fun.

Swarovski EL Range.   Packed them for a few years and been happy with them; they haven't let me down yet.
