Leftover multi season deer permits-are there any and when?
« on: August 31, 2017, 06:13:46 PM »
Sounds silly, but is there a way to find out if there are any left, and is there a cut off to when you can purchase them?

I don't think there's a deadline. I'm pretty sure the state will gladly take your money as long as there are tags still available. There were over 3,000 so I doubt they sold out already. If you already have a deer tag, you'll probably have to purchase your multi season tag when the WDFW office in Olympia is open, so they can void your current tag. To purchase one of the leftovers you had to have submitted an application for it, otherwise you're not eligible.

Thanks Bobcat. Feel like doing it, just don't want to piss away  $139 or whatever it is all the sudden. I just don't need the pressure. Lol!! I wasn't able to get the elk multi, so I'll take the deer multi. Just hurts to put the money down for one deer.... But then again, it's all about time out in the woods...

I think there is a deadline for purchasing them. The deadline for archery was yesterday, tje deadline for muzzy and modern is the day before the season starts. So you cant hunt your archery tag and if you dont get anything you cant go in and buy one. Same with muzzy and rifle. This is how i understand it

Unless it changed from last year there is no deadline.  I bought my deer multi tag in november last year.

2,000 left still. Why don't they just make these an over the counter thing? I understand the obvious reason, they would lose the application fees. Is there any other reason to not make these OTC?

Im begging people not to buy these. I mean it is your money and I have no say, but...... the game dept is losing money this way, and perhaps they will see this ridiculous price, people are not willing to pay to play their game (2000x139.10=278,200). and they want the same price even though archery season is over. I would be interested in this tag and purchasing it if it seemed affordable. but it already cost me $250.00 this year, and all I am guaranteed to hunt for a spike elk with a lot of other people and one deer.  rant over
