Zero days in this heat! Get the deer into a cooler or process it ASAP. I hope your post was a joke.

Any thing over 40 degrees is growing bacteria.

My dads hunt them in the basement which is probably north of 50 degrees for at least a day or two. We're over on the wetside so it maybe gets into the 40's at night on a slightly more chilly year. Any update on the deer ? Hopefully you've cut her up already. As long as you started cutting when you made this post it should be fine.

Early archery deer in this heat:  Kill, gut, skin, home, process.

Either that or to the butcher if you must hang.

I never hang. Gutless method, to fridge, to cutting table to the freezer.  1-2 days till all processed.

We have killed and hung deer for years, in 50 to 70 degree weather for up to a week(day time temps), nighttime would get cold enough to put a glaze on it.  Get the guts out ASAP, Get it hung in the shade ASAP, Get the hide off ASAP, get it clean, wiped off, bagged, peppered, nose and ears duct taped, don't let the sun hit it and you will be good to go. We have never lost a deer. Now at 80 degrees or higher, that has never been attempted by our camp.

The plus side of using this method is that the meat is already tenderized and cooked. Just cut off a chunk and start chewing. No preparation needed. Cures constipation, too. Using this method allows for bad bacteria to thrive between the temperatures of 40 and 140 degrees, inviting all sorts of bad things, from rotting meat to food poisoning. Be smart and get those carcasses chilled below 40 degrees ASAP.

 :yeah:
This is why so many people don't like the taste of wild game.  If I don't have somewhere where I can get it skinned out and hung up in 40 degrees or less quickly, I don't hunt until I can.  This is also the main reason that I usually don't start hunting until late season.
