🤗 Caught this one, released it as it was hooked in the hump. Not much action around me.

Very nice right there where the Sultan dumps into the Sky is a popular area.

For the kids, I have few frog water type spots (deep slow pools) that hold a lot of salmon and using a slip bobber and jig is the key.  Easy for kids.  Less time dealing with snagged fish (pain the butt), flossing, and getting stuck in the rocks and losing tackle.  If you can grab some FRESH LIVE sandshrimp, it can be like crack to the humpies - put the tail end or even the head end on the jig under the float

We need some rain and temps to drop for the bite to really pick up.  Then the slivers will move in.  Then the chums and eventually steelhead.  River used to be really good for all of those.  But not hardly worth the effort now days.  One of the reasons I switched to hunting.  At least humpy fishing with the kids is fun though

Yeah, though they pulled a body out of there yesterday that came from upriver. Happened just before we got there.  I guess he was bobbing along and the got sucked under there. They got a heartbeat but I don't know if he made it.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says an unidentified man was critically injured Tuesday afternoon after being submerged for a long time under the frigid and always dangerous waters of the Skykomish River.

Calls to 911 started coming in just before 3:00 pm reporting there was a man yelling for help in the river, according to sheriff's office spokesperson Shari Ireton.

Witnesses said the man had been acting strangely before jumping into the river. A short time later, after first appearing to be swimming, the man became distressed and started calling for help.

Rescue crews pulled the man out from under about 12 feet of water. He'd been submerged for roughly a half an hour by then, according to the sheriff's office.

About 4:00 pm the man was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Unfortunately it happens every year up here you have to respect the river year round.
Tonight I got 9 pinks and one king

He's been in the river awhile but on 6lb test it was a great fight and then safely released
