How's the Rut Been?

I archery hunted Idaho and now am trying to decide between WA muzzy or rifle. Was the rut right on time here? A little late? Hasn't happened yet? Help decide my elk season

It appeared to kick off in the second week of archery season in the Yakima area. Big bulls were all cowed up and there was decent bugling activity in the morning/evenings.

I was hunting out of Preston ID last week. They weren't very cooperative. Hopefully WA is doing better.

We got pounded with the weather in Idaho as well. It should have been prime time for the rut but with the 30mph winds and lightening storms, they stayed pretty tight lipped. I wasn't around on the eastside to see if it was similar here.
